Policies
Terms of use.
These terms explain how MyTeacherFinder introductions work for learners, teachers and organisations. The lesson arrangement is made directly with the teacher.
Using profiles
Compare information carefully and ask about anything material to your choice. A claimed account confirms control of the profile. It does not by itself verify qualifications, availability, suitability or results. Check any details that are important to your choice.
Making an enquiry
An enquiry is a request for an exact offer from the selected teacher. It does not book a lesson. Give accurate requirements and only make enquiries you are considering in good faith. Up to three enquiries can remain active for a learner at once.
Offers and deadlines
The teacher has 48 hours from submission to reply to an enquiry. A confirmed offer is held for 48 hours from publication, with the first 24 hours for the learner to decide. After acceptance, any teacher introduction payment is due within 24 hours and before the confirmed hold ends. The page and email show the saved deadlines. Expired, withdrawn or superseded offers cannot be accepted.
Introductions and fees
Learner enquiries are free. The first successful introduction is free for each teacher or organisation; later completed introductions cost the current fee of £9.99 total. The free introduction is used and any required payment is earned only when the introduction completes and contact details are released.
The lesson agreement
The offer records the teacher’s price, duration, first date, teaching location and practical terms. Lesson charges, attendance, later scheduling and tuition are arranged directly between learner and teacher. MyTeacherFinder is not the teacher’s employer or the provider of the lesson.
Accurate profiles and ownership
Teachers and authorised organisations must keep their details accurate and cannot claim another person’s profile. A claim is subject to proportionate ownership checks. Sensitive changes may require review before publication.
Who can write a review
You may review your own genuine interaction with a teacher, including an enquiry or arrangements where no lesson took place. You do not need to have booked through MyTeacherFinder. State the context accurately, confirm your email and submit your feedback for checking. Email confirmation is not proof of lessons. Parents and guardians may describe their own experience arranging tuition.
Imported reviews and ratings
Permitted imported feedback keeps its original wording and source. Teacher website testimonials are labelled as teacher-selected. Original five-star ratings are retained; text-only feedback may have a clearly labelled AI-assessed score from 1 to 5, checked before publication. The combined score averages eligible individual scores equally. A profile without scored reviews shows Average without a numeric score. Read How ratings work for the full calculation and limits.
Replies, reports and removal
A claimed teacher may submit one reply per review and report concerns without paying. Our review and content policy forms part of these terms. We assess reports and may request relevant evidence. We restrict or remove content for a policy breach, a valid legal requirement, a rights issue or the author’s withdrawal. A report, disagreement or low rating alone is not a reason for removal. Genuine negative feedback follows the same checks as positive feedback.
Fair use of reviews
Do not invent experiences, impersonate others, offer incentives for reviews, submit duplicate feedback or use reviews to harass someone. Teachers cannot edit another person’s review, pay for removal or make resolving a complaint conditional on a review being changed. Authors and teachers can ask for a publication or removal decision to be reviewed.
Payments, credits and corrections
The fees and refund policy explain charges, invalid or duplicate transactions, and replacement credits. Statutory rights remain intact. We do not exclude responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Protecting the service
Do not impersonate others, send abusive or fraudulent enquiries, misuse private access links, copy restricted information or try to bypass permissions. We may restrict access where proportionate while preserving required history and appeal access.
Contact and disputes
Use the contact page for service questions, complaints, ownership disputes or corrections. Include a safe enquiry reference where relevant. Do not send payment card details or private access links.
