Singing lessons in Edinburgh
Compare individual voice lessons with an Edinburgh choir route, including the current audition and rehearsal requirements.
Plan an individual lesson around your voice
Edinburgh School of Music lists private one-to-one voice lessons at its Meadowbank studio or online. Before you enquire, decide whether you want to focus on a song, a particular style or a vocal skill such as pitch, breath or diction, then ask how to practise between lessons.
A choir is a different kind of practice
Edinburgh Singers is an independent ensemble rather than a lesson provider. Its August 2026 notice says limited places are available across voice parts for the coming season, with auditions at regular points through the year. Rehearsals are weekly on Thursday evenings from September to June in central Edinburgh. Music reading and some sight-reading are expected, so check the current joining details before planning around an audition.
