Swimming lessons in Worcester
Compare Worcester lessons for babies, toddlers, school-age swimmers and adults, from water confidence to strokes, lengths and lifesaving skills.
Start with age, confidence and the pool format
Perdiswell Leisure Centre lists baby and children’s lessons from three months, with no upper age limit for children, plus adult beginner and stroke-improvement sessions. Lower Wick has parent-and-toddler lessons for ages 0 to 4 with a parent or carer. As checked on 25 October 2026, Lower Wick says its parent-and-toddler waiting list is closed for most age groups. The enquiry form only asks whether names are currently being accepted; submitting it does not add a child to a waiting list. Check again before relying on this route. For other lessons, share the learner’s age, confidence and unaided distance so the provider can suggest a suitable class.
Check the child’s next group and parent role
Lower Wick’s children’s groups start at 4.5. In Beginners groups 1-3, instructors are in the water; group 4 is for a swimmer who can confidently cross a width out of their depth. Groups 5-6 work on strokes and lengths, while groups 7-8 add dives, turns, stamina and elements of RLSS lifesaving awards. Parents may watch from the gallery but teachers lead the lesson. Share the swimmer’s unaided distance and ask which group criterion fits before choosing a class. Lower Wick also lists adult one-to-one lessons for individual confidence or stroke goals.
