Children’s stages and accompanying adults
Your Trust’s child Swim Academy follows the Swimming Teachers’ Association pathway. Starfish is for ages 0 to 3 and introduces babies with an accompanying adult; Stanley (ages 3 to 5) and Octopus (5 to 8) are beginner stages. Goldfish is for 5 to 8 year olds who have progressed through either route. Aqua Tots is separate: it is a parent, guardian or carer accompanied confidence session from about three months, not a taught lesson.
