Preschool lessons: age, parent and access
South Downs Leisure lists a separate parent-and-baby drop-in at Splashpoint, plus Aquababy for ages 4 to 18 months, Aquatots for 18 months to 3 years and Aquasplash for ages 3 to 4. A parent or carer accompanies the preschool learner. The dedicated preschool page says the structured lessons last 20 to 25 minutes in a 30-minute slot, lists Splashpoint in Worthing, and states that its preschool lessons are for FIT4 members only. It is not clear from that page whether the separate drop-in has the same access rule, so check before attending.
School-age stages: use ability and water depth
South Downs Leisure’s separate Aquaschool page lists Splashpoint and Wadurs, with a CoursePro registration route for non-members. It includes Aquaschool in Junior FIT4 membership; this registration route is for Aquaschool and should not be read as preschool access. Stage 1 is for schoolchildren aged four or over who cannot swim without buoyancy aids, with a five-metre front and back target in 0.85 metres of water. A separate Stage 1 8+ group starts non-swimmers aged eight or over in 1.2 metres. Later groups depend on strokes and distance. Share the learner’s comfortable distance and water confidence, then check the current centre and level criteria.
Adults can start with confidence or work on technique
South Downs Leisure lists adult non-swimmer, beginner and improver lessons at Splashpoint, as well as a front-crawl clinic. These run in term-time courses of six or seven weeks, with monthly direct debit. Its Adult Intensives listing describes a beginner or non-swimmer group for ages 16 and over in 1.2 metres of water. Swim England has a separate adult framework for ages 16 and over; check which framework a provider uses rather than assuming programmes match.
